Creating a taxonomy extension is as simple as a right click and choosing the new extension option. All required namespaces and linkbases are automatically created. Right click again to change properties.
A filing consists of one or more reporting periods. First you create a filing project. This is the folder to contain all reporting periods within the filing. Next you create your reporting periods.
A reporting period consists of a few dates and a unit of measure (dollars, euros) and a level of precision (thousands, millions). A few clicks in the reporting period properties window allows you to make these choices.
